Cherry on one of Ms. Cherry's college assignments. Ms. Cherry, a
GED graduate, mentors students in the Living Wages GED program.
Beyond Talent helped her transition to college. The partnership
continues today: Ms. Cherry will finish her
freshman year at UDC in May 2004.

students, including Charles Vernon (left).

"Meeka and
Yvette": Beyond Talent mentors, Tamikquela Cherry (Meeka) and
Yvette Gardner, work at the Living Wages' Anacostia site. Ms.
Gardner worked for Living Wages through Beyond Talent last year.
She was such a good employee and effective teacher that Living Wages
recruited her to work for them. She now works full-time for Living
Wages as an AmeriCorps volunteer.
