Note:  We mourn the loss of our friend and advisor, Kerry Bouchier.  Kerry was a passionate advocate for better schools for all children.  We will miss her bright eyes, merry laughter, and determined commitment to education for all children.  We vow to keep the flame burning and the work continuing in Kerry's memory.

Mission

The Social Venture Capital Foundation (SVCF) is a tax-exempt, public foundation. We are dedicated to proving that individuals and small  groups can make a difference.  We focus on the isolated, the powerless, the disabled, and dispossessed, and seek a world of inclusion and opportunity for all.  

Our mission: to help new nonprofit groups and leaders build a world that is safer and healthier,  better educated, more just and more responsible, sustainable, and more peaceful.  We are planting Seeds of Change.

• We are looking to find a new generation of social change leaders and nonprofit organizations with innovative visions for accomplishing  this goal and addressing key concerns.

• We provide modest seed money/entrepreneurial support grants to help these social entrepreneurs  bring about the changes that our country and our world need.  Even more than profit-oriented entrepreneurs, social innovators forming new non-profits need  the kind of support and counsel that venture capitalists render to profit-making startup companies. In addition, these new non-profit groups need the Mutual Support Network that SVCF is forming to help grantee organizations help each other.

• The leadership and support network of the Social Venture Capital Foundation provide precisely the management support and entrepreneurial counsel that non-profits need to turn socially valuable new ideas into executable plans.  SVCF management consulting support assists in network building, strengthening leadership, and building organizational excellence.  With this assistance,  these non-profits can be empowered to become self-sustaining vehicles for social change.
